Lloyd H. Bremer Leadership Award
Lloyd Bremer was an emergency room physician that was key in the establishment of the paramedic program on Cape Cod. Dr. Bremer was not satisfied with the States answer when he went to them to begin paramedic services on the Cape. When he was told he would have to wait for the legislation to obtain final approval, he took matters into his own hands. Dr. Bremer convinced other’s to join him in establishing local protocols and training in order to begin paramedic level care to the people of Cape Cod. Dr. Bremer’s leadership and determination was in part why we are still providing the services today. The Lloyd H. Bremer Leadership Award is to recognize any member of our service who displays exemplary leadership skills and determination that, in their daily routine, moves our system forward by ensuring the best possible care to the people of the Cape and Islands and motivating those around them to do the same.
